Five political detainees released from prison in Syria

Support Kurds n Syria, 03/12/2009
Syrian authorities released Jalal Yusef Ez al-Din, originally from Amuda town, from prison on Friday 25 December 2009. He had been arrested on 25 March 2009, and was sentenced by the Criminal Court in Hassakeh city along with four others on 28 May 2009 to serve one year in prison for political activity. Jalal Yusef Ez al-Din was released after serving nine months in prison.

The following people were released after a court hearing in Qamishli on Tuesday, 29 December 2009:

■Rojin Jumaa Rammo, was born in 1969 in Turbaspiya. She was arrested by political security in Aleppo on 29 July 2009. Her case was no. 3485;
■Afrah Mohammed Musa, was born in 1975 in Hasakah city. Her case is no. 3486;
■Falak Naz Khalil, born 1968 in Deyrik. Her case was no. 3486;
■Mohammed Khalil Khalil born in 1960 in Deyrik. His case was also no. 3486.
